Dear Friends, Pilots, Volunteer, Donors & Passengers,

Last year, throughout the Southeastern United States, thousands of individuals required air transportation for medical purposes. Many of these patients lacked the financial resources to satisfy their critical transportation needs.

Mercy Flight™ Southeast, a not for profit section 501(c) 3 approved entity, has a corporate mission designed to meet this critical requirement, to wit:

Coordinating free air transportation for children and adults with medical or compelling humanitarian needs.”

Mercy Flight coordinates approximately 3000 missions per year. Not every coordinated mission actually flies. Cancelations occur because of weather, patient conditions, destination facility issues, changes in patient or travelling companion schedules and etc. However, we must treat each Mission request as if there will be “wheels up” from the designated origination point at the specified departure time. Long before Delta coined the phrase “Delta is ready when you are”, Mercy Flight adopted this mantra as a core concept of service.

Mercy Flight pilots donate their time and aircraft at no cost whatsoever to those we serve. From the generosity of these wonderful pilots/aircraft owners we are able to fulfill our corporate mission. However, unfortunately Corporation has other material expenses. These expenses include the routine cost of operations (such as receptionists, secretarial assistants, rent, utilities, telephone, computers and etc.), as well as non-routine costs associated with community outreach, pilot recruitment and training, coordination with other sister organizations and fund raising activities. Incidentally, Mercy Flight receives no governmental assistance or funding of any type.

If we are going to successfully continue fulfilling our Corporate Mission we need your help. By following the link below, you will arrive at a destination that will allow you to make (in a secure and safe environment) a financial contribution to Mercy Flight Southeast. Please watch the video above before you consider giving. Because of the contributions of our pilots and Earth Angel volunteers, for each dollar donated from persons like yourself we are able to deliver $3.00 of services to those in need.

 Sincerely,

Steve Purello

Volunteer pilot Bob Jacobson shares this
poem with many people.
It was written by one of his patient
passengers:

“My Flight Of Angels

Do you ever look to the heavens?
Do you ever really see the beauty?

I once was blinded by the clouds
For heaven I could not see.
All I ever saw were clouds of disarray.

Everyone told me I had a flight of angels
Always there for me.
God made these angels appear with outstretched hands
Even though I did not believe.

As I cry out in pain and dark despair
God seems to send in his flight of angels
Knowing my heart is in need of repair.

If I never become as I once was
I am much better than before
For my flight of angels always seem to appear
Tending to my illness, showing nothing but kindness.

 Reaching out hands of support
Asking nothing for their giving
Just encouraging me to continue living.

When the time comes and God has his hands waving me home
I know my flight of angels by my side they will be
Letting me know I was never in this all alone.

As I enter into that distant shore
Where our Creator waits.
I pray I have learned what life is all about.
So don’t weep for me, but know
That now I am one of Gods special angels”
