Duane Huff, a volunteer with Mercy Flight™ Southeast, presents the The Aviation Institute of Maintenance at Gwinnett County Airport Lawrenceville, GA. with an award for outstanding generosity.
During the winter of 2006 Duane went to the school and asked if they would be interested in a project giving our 1969 Swearingen Merlin II B an extreme make-over. They said, “bring it on”.
In December, 2006, Merlin made his first appearance with the newly painted fuselage and fancy red and navy stripping in the Children’s Health Care of Atlanta Christmas Parade. This was the second consecutive year for Merlin’s participation in this event, and we will attend the 2007 event as well.
